WHY SMALL GROUPS

Progressive Sanctification

Groups that meet without the biblical purpose of pursuing character development have the tendency to reinforce, rather than confront the sin and selfishness in us.

Mutual Care

Small groups provide the context for each of us to fulfill Philippians 2:1-4. It is difficult to look out for the interest of every member of a church body, but it is quite possible to provide and receive care in a small group.

Biblical Fellowship

Biblical fellowship is participating in the life and truth made possible by the Holy Spirit through our union with Christ. Fellowship is sharing something in common on the deepest possible level of human relationship – our experience of God himself.

Our relationship with God should be the main topic of discussion within our small groups as we participate together to fulfill His purpose in the local church.

Ministry Of The Holy Spirit

I Corinthians 12 tells us that we are each gifted in unique ways. It’s not feasible for every member to use their spiritual gifts on a Sunday morning, but it is feasible for everyone to use their spiritual gifts within the context of a small group.
